Applications are invited for the Position of Independent Chairperson of the East Coast Regional Drugs and

Alcohol Task Force


The Chairperson is a key figure and the success of the Task Force will very much depend on the level of experience, commitment, skills and energy s/he can bring to the role. The Chairperson’s role is to lead the Task Force and to facilitate its meetings. S/he should be independent of any funded projects, and preferably have no direct links with any of the Task Force partner agencies.


It is desirable that the successful candidate has:

  • Experience of the role of Chairperson

  • An interest and understanding of drugs and alcohol misuse

  • A strong background in business planning and Action Plan implementation

  • A knowledge and experience of social inclusion issues

  • An ability to bring together organisations and individuals from different sectors to work as a team

The position of Chairperson is a non-salaried post. Out of pocket expenses will be paid. The term of office is three years. It is estimated a time commitment of 10-12 hours per month at most will be required for Chairperson duties.
